RAAS has officially started working

Russian Association for the Assistance to Science (RAAS) has officially started its activities with establishing the organizational structure and the adoption of the manifesto, the project of which was presented at the RAAS First All-Russian Conference in January of this year. It took place on Thursday, March 15, at the plenary meeting of the organization, reported ITAR-TASS.

It was decided at the meeting that RAAS structurally will consist of 12 committees, including, for example, Commissions on engineering science, military science, natural sciences, high technology, supercomputing, energy, strategic planning, as well as the Commission on the interaction of science, art and art education.

In addition, the Chairman of the RAAS Presidium of the, the president of the National Research Center Kurchatov Institute, academician Yevgeny Velikhov also proposed to create an analytical group, which eventually would appear online with daily routine information. According to Velikhov, one of the main objectives of RAAS is constant monitoring of the fact what happens in science.

Please note that Russian Association for the Assistance to Science was created in the summer of 2011. It was registered in the Ministry of Justice in November 2011. The Presidium of the organization includes, in particular, Mikhail Kovalchuk, the director of Kurchatov Institute, scientists Lev Borkin, Nadezhda Vavilina, the Investment programs Fund chairman Maxim Viktorov. The organization plenum includes the Academician of Sciences, Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alferov, the scientists Oleg Inshakov, Valery Tishkov, Valery Chereshnev.
