Softline Venture Partners to bring together startups and developers

Softline Venture Partners to bring together startups and developersOn April 6, 2012 the International Forum of developers Apps4all will take place in Digital October. The Softline Venture Partners fund (SVP) will hold its own section with two seminars on current topics: Coding for Equity and Preparation of prototypes for the start-up projects.

The Apps4all forum program includes a number of parallel sections where participants will be able to obtain current information about the international and Russian markets of telecommunications, to get acquainted with the experience of developing applications for various platforms, and generally explore approaches to building businesses based on mobile applications.

The main topic of the Softline Venture Partners seminar will be the problem of building effective relationships between the bearers of the ideas (the startupers) and developers. The stumbling block for the startupers is always money, and vagueness of the project ideas, resulting in the imbalance between what a startupers wants, and what the developer has to offer.

One solution to the money problem can be an approach called Coding for equity, programming for a stake in the business. This relationship scheme between the customer and the executor is quite popular in the U.S., but is not widespread in Russia.

Another important startupers problem in the IT-sphere is an attempt to start the project before the crystallization of ideas to an economically and technically sound business model. The presence of a clear business model is one of the main factors for successful fundraising. To help in solving this problem and significantly speed up the work on the project can be achieved by creating a prototype. To learn how to properly prepare the prototype for a startup or mobile applications, and what questions should be asked to the developer to obtain the desired result, will tell Vladimir Tarkhanov, Softline Venture Partners, and Anton Mazhirin, the founder of free-lance.ru.

After the presentations, all workshop participants will have the opportunity to express their views on the topics and ask questions to experts.

Anyone wishing to take part in Fund seminars may send an application in free form to e-mail: Alexander.Fedyaev @ softline.ru.
