Biglion bought one of the Belarus major discount resources Biglion Company completed the acquisition of Belarusian coupon resource Bongo.by from a group of individuals. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, but the experts say it does not exceed $ 1 M. According to Oleg Savtsov, the Biglion development director, Biglion was going to consolidate the service last year, but the deal had to be postponed due to the economic crisis in Belarus.

Within a few months Bongo.by site will work out its own brand, followed by the company rebranding.

Purchasing Bongo.by is another step in the Biglion’s geographic expansion, aimed at the near abroad and Eastern Europe. The company independently emerged in Kazakhstan in February. The purchase cost and investment in emergence ratio are approximately the same - says Savtsov. - But in case with Bongo.by we adjust the takeover scheme, for our team could consolidate further assets quickly.

Biglion is leader of Russian market for the sale of coupon codes. The site sells coupons for 50-90% discounts from the value of the goods or services. Biglion now has 12 M users, it has sold 7 M coupons in more than 70 cities of Russia. The turnover for 2011 is $ 140 M. As forecasted by BIA / Kelsey research firm, the world market of collective purchases will grow from $ 873 M in 2010 to $ 3.93 B in 2015.

Bongo.by’s monthly audience of 300,000 users, about 250000 coupons were sold in 2011. According to Biglion, the volume of the Belarusian coupon resources market in 2011 totaled $ 5-5-7 M. The major players are Pokupon.by and Bongo.by.
