The Rostov Region plans to spend 2 B RUR on innovation in 2012 The Rostov region authorities may send up to 2 B RUR this year to support and develop the investment and innovation in the region. The spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Rostov region told the Russian media about it, adding that this amount is nearly six times higher than last year's figure (353.7 M in 2011 and 207.8 M RUR in 2010).

The meeting devoted to the Day of Cosmonautics took place on Thursday at the Quantum Space Device Engineering Company. The company's employees have been awarded medals of Space Federation, as well as grateful letters of profile ministry. Alexander Grebenshchikov, the Deputy Governor, the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Rostov region, said that the plant Quantum, in particular, is a large innovative company, which certainly should be supported.

According to Director General Vyacheslav Motin, to date, the company has developed more than 26 kinds of optoelectronic devices targeting satellites for international and domestic projects, providing about 60% of production in the field of optoelectronic instrumentation for the space sector.

In innovation we develop new equipment - the Earth, sun and starry sky, orientation equipment of static type, - said Motin.
