Ural spends 1.6 M RUR on agriculture study
The governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, Mikhail Yurevich sent 1 million 590 thousand rubles for research related to crop production and food security, the press service of the region says.
In 2009-2010, due to the economic crisis, the research funding of agricultural sector of the Chelyabinsk region was stopped. Last year, due to additional revenue to the regional budget, the regional authorities were able to raise funds to support scientists. The governor Mikhail Yurevich sent about 2 M RUR to the Research Institute.
This year the money will be spent on research related mainly to the crop sector. Also, scientists will study the basic directions of state regulation of the food security system in the Chelyabinsk region and the introduction of biotechnology in crop.
