Small innovation companies got another area for development: the opening ceremony of the biotechnology business incubator was held on Tuesday at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the institute, Nikolai Kudryavtsev, the director of the Chemical and Engineering Complex and Bioengineering Technologies Industry Department Sergei Tsyb, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Barry Sharpless, who will lead the laboratory of the business incubator, and Oleg Korzinov, the CEO of North biopharmaceutical cluster.
The idea of creating a business incubator is not to wait till 2014, when MIPT biotech building opens, but to test interaction models of private companies with the university - Korzinov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, we are talking about creating a starter for future projects, which will move in the biotech building.
At the moment there are already several start-ups that will work in the business incubator, and several young companies are being negotiated about how they will be placed in the newly opened areas.
