Interra Innovation Forum with the Innovations for Life topic

Vladimir Nikonov, the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region, and Lada Yurchenko, the forum director, spoke about the features of the International Innovation Forum Interra-2012 at a special press conference.

Interra events of 2012 the will be held within two days - September 14-15. Reducing the forum timeframe is connected with event intensity of the month: the events devoted to the 75th anniversary of the Novosibirsk region will take place at the same time.

The topic of the fourth forum is Innovations for life. Interra Events in 2012 will focus on four major platforms. Discussion of issues related to the government role in the development of innovative processes will take place in Akademgorodok, at the platform Innovations territory.

The events of the New Economy platform dedicated to discussion of the operation principles and the role of clusters will be held in the premises of Novosibirsk State Technical University.

Novosibirsk Expocentre will host the City for life platform: on the one hand, the urgent problems of urban planning, growth problems will be discussed here, on the other - it will dwell on developments improving the quality of life in the city.

The cultural program events will be held in the Pobeda cinema, as well as on Interra-street, which is Lenin Street segment. Lada Yurchenko enumerated some of the cultural program events, in particular, she reported that a cultural event is scheduled in Iskitim Marble quarry within the forum days, and Living Water festival of ethnic cultures is planned in summer within the Pre-Interra.

The starting event of the forum will be the Summit of innovative regions plenary meeting and Interra will be finished by summing up during the Final Summary Report. The projects that will be submitted to the authorities for consideration and further implementation will be presented at this final session, - said the forum director.

The official number of Interra participants is 1050, about 250 of which are experts, 800 are the direct forum participants.

The program must be completely formed by early June, together with the overall budget.

Among the experts organizers suppose to see representatives of the Skolkovo Fund, the Russian Venture Company, OJSC RUSNANO and other major Russian and international organizations involved in innovation processes.

The Interra program includes the meeting of the Innovative Regions Association which, according to Vladimir Nikonov, will provide both high informativity of the debate, and the concentration of the figures significant for the innovation process in the country.

The 2011 forum results were also noted by the speakers.

According to Lada Yurchenko, all projects-winners of the In2In contest held at the previous forum still exist and are developing. Both the authors of the Fukam fireproof system and the 3D EYE stereovision sensors developers have found private investors. The very fact of their success and development is one of the most important results of Interra, - noted the forum director. Interra together with Technopark and Venture Fair is an important part of the ecosystem built in Novosibirsk to support innovative projects, - said Vladimir Nikonov.
