The Commission of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia approved the cluster of nuclear and space technologies draft in Zheleznogorsk for inclusion in the list of priority regional innovation clusters.
In the near future, the federal list of projects will be approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, the website of the regional government says. Priority status of the project will allow the Region to attract federal funding for the development of innovative industries in Zheleznogorsk and to create appropriate infrastructure: transport, energy and social.
Territorial Innovation Cluster is a set of businesses and organizations placed in a limited area which is characterized by scientific-production chain of cluster members. The main purpose of creating clusters is economic efficiency and effectiveness of each company.
The total cost of projects in space and nuclear technologies of Zheleznogorsk innovation cluster will exceed 110 B RUR by 2020.
Innovative development of the Region will be implemented in two stages. During the first stage (from 2011 till 2013) the main elements of the innovation system will be created, including a cluster of innovative technologies. The key customers of innovation businesses will become the core of the cluster: Information Satellite Systems in honor of M.F. Reshetnev and FSUE Mining-Chemical Plant. The core of the cluster will also include an industrial park, a center for technology transfer and scientific and educational center.
In the second stage (from 2014 till 2020) enterprises of the cluster must bring a number of competitive brands to the market. As a result of all these plans realization dozens of industries will be launched and several thousand jobs will be created.
