Skolkovo to hold a presentation at one of the largest technoparks in EuropeA delegation of the Skolkovo Fund will pay a visit to the scientific and technological park Sophia-Antipolis this week, and will also visit other organizations of the innovation system of Maritimes Alps region (France). Russian innovation center will be presented to European counterparts during the trip.

The trip that will take place on July, 17-18 will bring together representatives of clusters, industrial park, Skolkovo resident companies, as well as representatives from the office to create an attractive environment under the President of the Fund.

This is the first working meeting of Skolkovo and Sophia Antipolis representatives after the signing of a Cooperation Agreement in March by presidents of both innovation centers - V.F.Vekselberg and P. Laffitte.

It is expected that the Consul General of Russia in Marseille V.N.Pozdnyakov and the Secretary General of the Sophia Antipolis Foundation, Jean-Noel Dyurvi will make their welcoming speeches for meeting’s participants.

The presentation of Skolkovo innovation center: Cluster of Space Technology, Biomedical Technology Cluster and the Cluster of Nuclear Technologies will take place in Sophia Antipolis, the oldest and largest technology park in Europe for the first time. Clusters’ representatives as well as participating companies’ leaders will negotiate with potential partners, investors and business angels, heads of Sophia Antipolis specialized clusters and Maritime Alps region. Among the members from the French side are: Optitec (laser and wave technologies), Eurobiomed (Biomedical Technologies), Pegase (Space & Communications), companies and research centers. It is also scheduled to visit the business incubator, laboratories, as well as to meet with experts from regional Chamber of Commerce.

Russian participants of the trip will become familiar with the activities of the park, under construction quarters to be created in Sophia Antipolis in accordance with its development strategy-2020.

In addition to contacts and talks at Sophia Antipolis, the program of events includes a visit to a new innovation zone Ekovalle to be created under Big Nice project. The experience of new territories annexation and building an innovative quarter on one of them to host Nice-Sophia Antipolis University may become interesting to Skolkovo as a model of future cooperation with Moscow authorities, as well as an example of a megacity with the latest innovative and urban trends.
