Tatarstan launched a unique grant program to support students

Tatarstan launched a unique grant program to support studentsThe Republic of Tatarstan has launched a unique grant program to support students in information technology, according to the website of the Kazan IT Park. The Government of the Republic decided to allocate 120 grants in 2012 for education at the Higher School of Technology and Systems (ITIS) at Federal University of Kazan.

The main difference of ITIS from traditional technical colleges and faculties is practice orientation. The training is carried out by authorized programs of Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, HP, Cisco, Huawei, Siemens, SAP, etc. Teachers from KFU and from the best world universities are invited to give lectures on key disciplines. Second-year students get an opportunity to practice and work in leading IT-companies, including IT-park residents.

University entrants who showed better results in the entrance examinations have an opportunity to receive free higher technical education of world-class. The first ITIS intake of students took place in September last year. 30 students who scored maximum points on the results of the exam, received personal grants for the first year of study from Kazan Technopark.

It is important that not only applicants from Tatarstan but also from other regions of Russia can qualify for the grant. Along with student card ITIS nonresident students can live in one of the best campuses of Russia - the Student Village (they are given comfortable accommodation with new furniture, appliances, internet and all the necessary infrastructure in the dorms for 55 rubles a month).

ITIS will become a self-dependent IT-University and will be located in Innopolis – an Innovative satellite town near Kazan with comfortable conditions for work, study and recreation of IT professionals from all over Russia.
