Kaluga region may accept an IT cluster

A question about the creation of regional cluster in information technology was discussed at the last meeting in the administration of Kaluga region. The round table brought together representatives from business and IT-sphere, officials and leaders of the structures associated with the development of information technology; they discussed ways to support innovative projects in information technologies.

The development of the IT-sector will contribute to a more dynamic and efficient development of the region, the head of the regional Ministry of Information Society Development and Innovation Violetta Komissarova said. According to her, Kaluga region will rely on the cluster approach in IT.

Anatoly Sotnikov, the CEO of Innovation Development Agency of the center of cluster development of Kaluga Region, expressed his confidence that one of cluster’s advantages is the synergetic effect, i.e. the creation of a single business environment, large-scale joint projects, the system of highly qualified personnel training, and more.

The participants of the meeting familiarized with a project of future IT-center which aims to support new and promising projects of start-ups. The center will support the entrepreneurs from a very early stage of development: there is an IT-school, consisting of circles of programming and computer graphics, and the next step in business development is a business incubator and training center.
