Business incubator in Siberian nanotech center to open in spring 2013

Business incubator in Siberian nanotech center to open in spring 2013Biotechnological business incubator in interdisciplinary nanotechnology center Sigma (Novosibirsk-Tomsk), created with the participation of RUSNANO, will start working in spring 2013, the general director of Sigma.Innovations Levan Tatunashvili reported.

According to our calculations, first laboratories will start working in spring, 2013. We will launch the second stage in May and the incubator will start operating at full capacity - Tatunashvili said during a working visit of the governor of Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko, the purpose of which was to get to know the project LLC SIGMA.innovations to create nanotechnology center.

Biotechnological business incubator with total area of 1000 sq.m. will become the basis of the second cluster that will be launched by Sigma in the current year. The business incubator will include laboratories of chemical and biological profile, a technological area for the development of pharmaceuticals manufacturing technologies and office space for start-ups.

Multidisciplinary Nanotechnological Center Sigma was one of the four winners of the first Rusnano contest to select projects for the creation of such centers, which took place in 2010.

The first stage of the project presupposes the creation of a Center for Technological Industry (Prototyping Center), a Center of nano-modified materials, a nanoelectronics and information technology center. The second phase of the project presupposes the expansion of MNC activities in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals.

The key feature of the nanotechnology centers is the concentration of technological equipment and skills of small innovative companies’ incubation at one place (marketing, management and information support).
