Lenovo buys a cloud software developer StonewareChinese computer maker Lenovo Group made its first acquisition in the software market buying a cloud software developer Stoneware from the U.S. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

With this acquisition, Lenovo opens up new directions to enter the highly profitable software segment.

Stoneware company produces software that is used in the government and corporate sectors to synchronize data between several mobile devices. 60 people work in Stoneware.

The new owner of the company is planning to use its developments as a part of Lenovo branded products for building corporate and public cloud computing. Stoneware solutions allow business users to create a platform for sending and receiving data on the principle that is realized in Apple iCloud.
