Web conferencing market rivals COMDI and Webinar.ru to cooperate

Companies Webinar.ru and COMDI that operate in the Russian market of web conferencing, announced their merger to strengthen their position in the Russian market and expand their presence. Former rivals now hope to get at least 60% of the market.

According to the founder and ideologue of COMDI Dmitry Green, first agreements of the merger were reached in May of year. The board of directors of the new structure will include Dmitry Green, Alexander Alpern who is the founder of Webinar.ru, Victor Belogub who is a representative of VTB Capital venture business which is the main investor of COMDI, and Renat Khasanshyn, a partner of Apaxys Global Ventures (investor Webinar.ru). Alexander Alpern will lead the united company, Dmitry Green will become the Product Director. The main shareholders will be the company's founders - VTB Capital and Apaxys Global Ventures.

As noted by Alexander Alpern, a unique situation has formed for merging, when competitors will complement each other: Webinar.ru has a well-organized technology of sales and strong brand, COMDI has a unique technology and strong team to develop the product.

Both companies were pioneers of the web conferencing market. We managed to create a reliable and easy-to-use service that allows customers to effectively manage their businesses and increase sales, - Dmitry Green, the Product Director of the combined company says. - A new product based on HTML5 technology which will hit the market soon to change established standards and the current view of web conferencing service and will become a significant player in the global market.

The total staff of the united company has over 70 employees and will be actively growing. The united company plans to attract best professionals for the development of technological solutions and business development. The company is headquartered in Moscow, with regional offices in St. Petersburg, Kazan and Kiev.
