Cisco showed Skolkovo its developments in telemedicine

Experts from Cisco Company showed different applications of video technology to the visitors of an exposition devoted to medical innovations. The exhibition was timed to the meeting on the development of innovative medicine, which took place in the innovation city of Skolkovo and was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

In particular, the experts from Cisco organized a sharing session with the Simulation and Training Centre of V.I.Kulakov Scientific Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology. The training Division of Research Center is divided into three zones, where doctors work out the most advanced techniques on mannequins and robots that reliably simulate various clinical cases. Using Cisco TelePresence system, the specialists of this medical establishment share their experience with Russian and foreign partners, improving the skills of joint work.

Cisco showed its developments in telemedicine. Cisco employees also demonstrated the integration of Cisco TelePresence solutions with a certified development of the manager of A.N. Bakulev scientific advisory telemedicine center NTSSSH of RAMS and executive secretary of Russian Telemedicine Association Valery Stolyar – a surgical helmet. The device is equipped with an optical camera that allows you to see an operated area in details and to transfer video. The helmet can be connected to all Cisco TelePresence solutions for demonstrating the operation to doctors from all over Russia and worldwide.

The experts from Cisco also told about the latest mobile device Cisco VX Clinical Assistant which connects doctors and patients, even if they are in different parts of the world.

Cisco TelePresence solutions allow you to transfer video from any medical device - for example, from a ultrasound machine.
