Zuckerberg’s plans to visit Moscow in October were confirmed by the representatives of Facebook press service in Russia. The spokeswoman of the head of the government Natalya Timakova said about the possibility of Zuckerberg and Medvedev meeting.

However, the purpose of Facebook’s founder visit to Russia and the program of his stay have not yet disclosed.

Earlier, some media reported that Zuckerberg is going to visit Russia in early October and will meet with Russian Prime Minister and his Deputy Arkady Dvorkovich and Vladislav Surkov.

Being the head of state, Medvedev became an active Internet user. He was the first among the officials in Russia who permanently used blogs, and it was possible to speak directly to him online. In October 2008, Medvedev started a video blog on the website of the President; in 2009 the presidential blog was registered on Live Journal. In June 2010, during a visit to the headquarters of Twitter in Silicon Valley in the U.S., Medvedev got his account at the world famous Internet microblogging service, and now has nearly 1.5 million followers. Medvedev also has accounts on social networking sites Facebook and VKontakte, RIA Novosti reported.
