Microsoft makes two acquisitionsStartup StorSimple and MarketingPilot Company will become a part of Microsoft. Financial details of both deals were not disclosed.

StorSimple develops applications for enterprises’ data archiving in cloud storages. This will help Microsoft to extend the functionality of its cloud platform Azure. According to Michael Pak, the corporate vice president of Microsoft, StorSimple’s approach to archiving is the seamless integration of local and cloud storages, which fit perfectly with the Azure- strategy of Microsoft.

Pak notes positive side of StorSimple startup’s products that allow users to reduce the costs of archiving data in diverse IT-environments, and increase the availability of information in case an element of the corporate environment fails.

The takeover of MarketingPilot, a developer of tools for marketing automation, will allow Microsoft to complement BI products with necessary marketing functions that will give customers the ability to successfully plan, implement, monitor, and optimize the interaction with their own customers through digital, social and traditional channels, the blog of Dynamics CRM community says.

The portfolio of MarketingPilot includes tools to automate marketing and advertising, integrated marketing management, leadership management, CRM.

MarketingPilot’s technologies will be probably integrated into Microsoft Dynamics solutions. Microsoft will present more details about the use of MarketingPilot’s solutions at Convergence 2013 forum to be held in March, 2013.
