Polish online catalog for designers attracts investmentInternational company Burda International, operating in fashion business, acquires 25% stake in Polish operator of online clothing and accessories catalog Showroom.pl. The amount paid for the share in the company was not disclosed. The funds received from the world-famous company, will allow independent Polish designers to express themselves outside the country.

Showroom allows independent designers of clothing, shoes and accessories place the examples of their own works in their catalog for public viewing and receiving purchase orders.

Showroom was originally launched with the money of its founders, as well as with funds borrowed from HardGramma Ventures fund. The service sees its further development in collaboration with Facebook, as well as in the creation of its own system of coupons for discounts.

Recall that today Burda Int. house produces about three hundred fashion magazines, including Elle, InStyle, Prestige and others. But investors say that Burda has faced with the falling profitability of printed magazines and it is looking for a way to enter new markets. On the other hand, Showroom was established less than a year ago and now needs additional funding for expansion beyond the Polish market.
