RVC to demonstrate its progress in Russia's first Fab Lab establishment

RVC will hold events devoted to Fab Lab complex project to present and promote the ideas and principles of open laboratories for digital manufacturing Fab Lab in Russia at the exhibition Open Innovations Expo of Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development Open Innovations.

The creation and launch of Russia's first Fab Lab became possible through the combined efforts of the National Research Technological University MISA (NITU MISA), JSC RVC, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Moscow Government. MISA, as one of the leading research universities of technology, which includes both technological and human resources, became the most suitable site for the pilot project, which will be the base model for disseminating the experience of Fab Lab creation.

The grand opening of Russia's first certified laboratory of personal digital production - FABLAB MISA - of the joint project of JSC RVC and NITU MISA took place on the 20th of April, 2012. The project will allow the representatives of creative youth and small innovative companies to get access to a unique technological platform of digital creativity, prototyping and production.

The workshops on working with Fab Lab hardware and software, presentations of projects that ideologically close to Fab Lab, lectures and discussions for users with different experiences will take place at the Fab Lab stand during Open Innovations forum.

The visitors of Open Innovations Expo will see the existing Fab Lab of digital manufacturing, which demonstrates all the basic equipment and tools, as well as the techniques used in Fab Labs.
