VitaPortal received $2M from a Russian Fund and an international Angel

VitaPortal received $2M from a Russian Fund and an international Angel Russian investment fund Prostor Capital and a famous business angel Esther Dyson invested $2M in an Internet service VitaPortal dedicated to health and medicine. VitaPortal is one of Fastlane Ventures's portfolio businesses.

The funds will be used for further development of the technology based on the use of personal data, including online tools, personal health monitoring, rating of doctors and clinics, and services that help people maintain and improve their health every day.

VitaPortal Internet company was launched in June, 2011 with the support of Fastlane Ventures. The main goal of the company is to develop an online medical resource for physicians and patients. VitaPortal won Runet Awards in the category Health and Recreation in 2011. Esther Dyson, the chairman of VitaPortal's Supervisory Board, is a member of Yandex Board of Directors.

As the General Director and co-founder of VitaPortal Azamat Ulbashev says, his company is going to create a service for high quality medicine and health in the Russian market, using individual approach to its customers. Initially, the trust of our trading partner - Fastlane Ventures and the Investment received from Prostor Capital, became an important step for us in the development of business, - Azamat said. - Our goals and objectives are fully consistent with the ideas and values of our new investor. And the synergy will speed up the development of our business and make it easier to implement the mission of the company.

The medical segment has always been interesting for Prostor Capital, says the managing director of the fund Alexey Soloviev and VitaPortal has become the second project in this area that received money from Prostor Capital. There is another Russian company in the fund's portfolio, it is a developer and supplier of software for creating a single regional health database, a complete automation solutions for medical and pharmaceutical institutions, individual record of care.

Esther Dyson, the founder of EDventure Holdings and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VitaPortala believes that people have the access to the best opportunities for taking care of their health, but many of them simply do not know about them: With the help of VitaPortal we hope to give people the knowledge and motivation to live a healthy life since our services and applications help to interpret the data about their health.

Note that Esther Dyson, a renowned international investor, headed the Supervisory Board of VitaPortal in December 2011, that includes well-known figures in American health care.
