Russia?s Vavilov Academic Institute of General Genetics and the Netherlands? University of Groningen are expected to establish a new research and education entity to focus on stem cells, called the Skoltech Stem Cells Center for Science, Innovation and Education, the Skolkovo Foundation reports. The new Center will be part of Skoltech, an ambitious research and education project fostered by Skolkovo, Russia?s most widely-touted state-sponsored innovation hub still under construction outside Moscow. The creation of the Center was formally agreed upon this past Monday during President Vladimir Putin?s visit to the Netherlands.
