The nanotech centers that Rusnano, the largest nanotech company in this country, is spawning across Russia in a bid to develop the national nano sector are expected to fund more than 200 own start-ups by the end of 2013, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reports citing a statement by Anatoly Chubais, the CEO and president of Rusnano. ?In 2012, the nanotech centers had sales of more than $12m. Their boards of directors approved the funding of 48 new technology start-ups. Under plans for this year, more than 200 start-ups will be backed,? Mr. Chubais said at a roundtable in the State Duma (Russian Parliament?s Lower Chamber). Rusnano?s nanotech center network is being created to support regional ecosystems for commercialization of scientific and R&D results. Their key feature will be bringing together under one roof engineering equipment and capacity and competency to incubate small innovation companies...
