The Chief Research and Testing Center for Robotics of the RF Defense Ministry will be based on the former Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy in Moscow, the Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Ostapenko Oleg told reporters on Tuesday.
Geographically, the center will be based on the former Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy. The decision has been taken. Now we are conducting survey work and preparing for construction activities, - O. Ostapenko said.
He notes that the Robotics Center of the RF Defense Ministry will be a part of the System of Promising Military Researches and Developments of the RF Defense Ministry.
O. Ostapenko also notes that they use the experience of establishing and operating a similar center in the Russian Emergencies Ministry when creating the Robotics Center of the Defense Ministry. Of course, we will use the Emergencies Ministry’s experience. We will work together in some areas since we primarily solve state tasks in both cases - O. Ostapenko says.
When asked about the structure of the Defense Ministry’s Robotics Center, O. Ostapenko noted that it would be flexible and transformable depending on particular tasks.
We set up the organizational backbone of the Center to create relevant laboratories depending on the Defense Ministry’s needs and the availability of advanced technologies in this or that area - O. Ostapenko says.
He notes that the Robotics Center will invite leading experts and scientists. It will have appropriate laboratory facilities.
