Tech Tour finalists report to international investorsThe Organizing Committee of the Third Russian Tech Tour announced the successful completion of the main programme today. Specially selected promising Russian companies demonstrated their achievements from April 23 to 25 to the Tech Tour delegates: foreign and Russian investors, representatives of technology companies. The Tech Tour launched in Moscow on April 23 with a press conference and gala dinner.

The presentation of finalists took place at Skolkovo and Digital October on April 24. The next day, investors and guests of the Tech Tour visited Kazan IT Park, the VIII Venture Fair and the Kremlin where the finalist companies delivered a pitch. The Tech Tour was visited by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Minnihanov, the Minister of Communications and Mass Communications of the RF Nikolay Nikiforov, and the head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow Alexey Komissarov.

The Third Russian Tech Tour is a platform for joint investment activities of Russian and international venture capital markets. The Tech Tour involves most promising and innovative companies at different stages of development. The organizer of the Tech Tour is European Tech Tour Association; co-organizers of the event are RVC JSC, Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, Pulsar Venture, the Skolkovo Foundation and the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs of RUSNANO, JSC. The general partner of the project is Moscow Innovation Development Centre. Global partners: Egon Zehnder, Frederique Constant Geneve and Pictet. Bronze partners: Orrick and Morgan Lewis. The business partner is Ernst&Yong, the cloud sponsor is Microsoft.

We collected the opinions of investment funds’ representatives, delegates, and finalist companies about the Tech Tour. The president of last Russian Tech Tour, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Third Russian Tech Tour, the CEO of SBI Moscow Innovation Development Centre Konstantin Fokin noted that the Third Tech Tour, as well as previous Tech Tours, was a high-level, dynamic and interesting event.

A member of the Selection Committee of the Russian Tech Tour, Director of Strategic Investments of RVC JSC Yan Ryazantsev shared his impressions about the event: The most significant result of the Tech Tour is the integration of Russian tech entrepreneurs’ community in the global innovation ecosystem. Business contacts with leading international investors can significantly improve the competitiveness of our startups and ensure the promotion of Russian technologies to the global market.

Artem Razumkov, the CEO of a finalist company Macroscop told about the company’s first results in the Tech Tour: The impressions are vivid: I have had no chance to take part in an event with so many high-level investors. It is a great honor to be among the most promising Russian high-tech companies. We have managed to meet with key investors and now plan to enter the global market soon.

Constantin Rosset, the CEO of a finalist company Ad Moment: There were many different people, great opportunities for networking; you could meet with private investors, venture capitalists, and representatives of different countries. The Tech Tour took place in the format of presentations that made it possible to demonstrate our advantages. We are confident that we will get strong support and attract new investors.

Edward Kanalosh, the Chief Investment of the Skolkovo Fund shared his impressions: It is a bright event, which distinctive feature is the high level of presented projects. We are proud of the fact that the independent selection committee found that the 14 Skolkovo companies deserve to be among the 25 finalists.

The Director of Investment Projects of the Skolkovo Fund Pyotr Lukyanov supported the opinion of his colleague: IT startups have traditionally dominated in the Tech Tour, which corresponds to the realities of the Russian venture capital market. At the same time, the emergence of companies in the energy efficiency sector is indicative. In particular, the Top 25 startups of the Third Tech Tour include 4 Skolkovo companies related to this sector: Mobix, SMS Tenzotherm, RRT Global and VIST Mining.
