RVC takes part in a meeting of the Innovation Working Group in the U.S.A meeting of leading Russian and American experts in innovations took place on April 24 in Washington, DC at the Microsoft Innovation Center. It was held under the leadership of the co-chairs of the Group – the RF Deputy Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov and Deputy Secretary of State Robert Hormats.

The working group meeting included a discussion of possibilities for entering the markets of Russia and the USA in the context of commercialization of technologies, legal framework for the development of innovations, innovation centers and regional innovation clusters.

The CEO and Chairman of the Board of RVC JSC Igor Agamirzyan presented a brief summary of the Russian venture capital industry development on the first day of the Group. The stable growth of the Russian venture industry, both in terms of available capital and investments in technology companies, demonstrates the effectiveness of the actions taken, - Igor Agamirzyan said speaking at the plenary session of the Working Group. - A significant part of the market is represented by investments received from foreign partners who see good prospects in the development of Russian technology companies. International cooperation makes it possible to eliminate barriers and find effective forms to support the development of innovations in Russia.

Igor Agamirzyan also spoke about projects implemented jointly with other development institutions and large companies, including international ones such as the annual Russian Innovation Week to be held in September this year on the two coasts of the United States.

The discussion on the Russian VC market growth covered practical issues on the development of innovation in universities, technology industries, especially biotechnology, and other practical issues of the U.S.-Russia cooperation in innovation.

A series of agreements on innovation cooperation between various partners in the public and private sectors of the U.S. and Russia were signed within the III Innovation Working Group of the U.S.-Russian Bilateral Presidential Commission.
