Danfoss opens a R&D Center in Skolkovo

A ceremony of signing an agreement on the establishment of a Centre for research and development (R&D) of Danfoss Company in the innovation center Skolkovo will take place on May 15, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at International Trade Centre.

The signing ceremony will be attended by the President of the Skolkovo Fund Viktor Vekselberg and the President and CEO of Danfoss Company Niels Bjorn Christiansen.

According to the agreement, Danfoss’ R&D Center will carry out research activities in the following areas: intelligent energy system for central heating, SCADA solution (supervisory control and data acquisition); solutions for individual heat consumption measurement in house construction and existing residential buildings; reducing energy consumption and improving the efficiency of heavy oil extraction when using frequency converters; methods to evaluate and compare district heating networks’ effectiveness; solutions to optimize control systems of heating distribution; new heat transfer technologies for heat exchangers.

The event will announce the terms of future cooperation, as well as Danfoss Company’s plans on R&D activities in the Skolkovo Innovation City.

A Q&A session for the media will take place after signing the agreement.
