New CTO of Runa Capital Fund

Runa Capital Venture Fund focused on technology projects has announced the appointment of Oleg Melnikov as the CTO. At the same time, he will remain the senior vice president of Parallels Automation.

Melnikov will have three main tasks at Runa Capital: conduct tech assessment of companies that Runa Capital considers to invest in; provide consulting and management support for the fund's portfolio companies in creation and exploitation of technologies, in product roadmap and software architecture development, determine key performance indicators and the use of appropriate technical solutions; launch Runa University and conduct Runa Startup Bootcamp - a training project for portfolio companies and startups potentially interesting to the fund, involving known IT industry experts.

The tremendous experience gained by Oleg while working in Parallels, where he focuses on the development of one of its most complex products - Parallels Automation, will allow Runa Capital to invest in advanced technologies and support them on a daily basis and through training programmes at Runa University and Runa Srartup Bootcamp that we regularly organize for our companies. Oleg’s dedication and strategic vision, as well as extensive management experience will help our companies to create first-class products and conquer the world leaders’ positions in their markets, - Sergey Belousov says, the senior partner and co-founder of Runa Capital. – As CTO, Oleg will be responsible for the assessment of technologies, products and software architecture developed by our portfolio companies, advising these companies and help them in solving technical issues. In addition, Oleg will examine technology startups considered by Runa Capital for potential investments.

According to Runa Capital, Oleg Melnikov, the co-founder of Parallels who has more than 15 years of experience in software development, leads a team of over 200 engineers. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Internet technologies, the development of Internet applications, e-commerce systems and automation of cloud technologies. Melnikov graduated from the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute, where he received bachelor and master degrees in physics.
