Krasnoyarsk seeks local technologies to boost competitivenessInnovation support authorities in Siberia?s Krasnoyarsk have announced a competition of RandD efforts, technology projects and innovation programs to enhance the region?s competitiveness.

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Science and Innovation Support Fund announced last week that it was collecting applications from R&D teams, technology projects and innovation program developers for its new competition aimed at helping the Krasnoyarsk region enhance its competitive advantages in Russia. The competition is open for educational and scientific entities registered in the region. All applicants are expected to provide at least 10% of their project costs as co-financing. The competition winners will receive $1m in funding from the Krasnoyarsk regional authorities. The deadline for submitting applications at the Krasnoyarsk Fund?s website is June 20. The winners of last year?s regional competition included LangPrism, an online service for translation of web content; VPuti, a service helping people look for travel companions; Intelligent CEO Assistant for automation PA work in companies; a project that had developed an energy-efficient induction heater for non-ferrous metals; a local developer of a hyperfine aluminum wire; a company that had come up with a new heat generator using straw as fuel; and some others...
