The Microsoft Russia Seed Fund has disbursed another $160,000 to support Russian start-ups developing IT projects, East-West Digital News, the international resource on Russian digital industries, reported Friday, citing the Microsoft Russia website. A $60,000 grant went to Appercode from Siberia?s Novosibirsk. The Appercode team pushes a solution that would enable application developers and systems integrators to create .NET/C#-based cross-platform mobile apps. The product is believed to reduce the timeframes and costs of app development by offering ?original architecture and completely functional modules.? Moscow?s xGenCloud walked away with two separate grants from the Fund. In addition to $40,000 in monetary backing, the biomedical start-up now enjoys free access to $60,000 worth of Windows Azure-based cloud services as it advances its genetics-focused effort aimed at improving a patient?s quality of life...
