Lukoil experiments with new oil transportation technology
The Perm division of Lukoil, one of Russia?s oil majors, is getting ready for the testing of new counter-turbulence additives that are expected to boost oil pipeline capacity.
Lukoil-Perm, the West Urals division of Lukoil, one of Russia?s oil majors, is getting ready for the testing of new counter-turbulence additives that are expected to boost oil pipeline capacity, Benzol.ru reports. The additives are high-molecular polymers that are said to be able to lower the turbulence of petroleum product flow in a pipeline. The innovation is reportedly expected to help cut hydraulic head loss and subsequently increase oil pumping from today?s 95 tons to 105 tons an hour. The additives contain no chlorine-organic compounds and therefore have no adverse effect on the quality of stock-tank oil. Using the new product would enable Lukoil to apply energy-saving and eco-friendly technologies to oil transportation...
