A biological technopark to appear in KareliaThe Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen signed an agreement with the General Director of Mariproduct JSC Alexander Posin on a joint creation of an industrial park in Louhi Region of the republic worth 3B RUR, the regional government says. According to the press service, the signing of the agreement took place at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

Processing of oil sludge and municipal solid waste is also planned as part of the project implementation for environmental clean-up of the territory.

It is expected that the biological technopark will be based on existing capacity of Mariproduct Company engaged in fishery products on the White Sea, as well as the capacity of other commercial and scientific organizations operating on the coast near Chupa Bay and freshwater bodies adjacent to the area.

It is expected that the construction and launching of entire complex of the bio cluster enterprises will create about 600 jobs for workers of various qualifications. The project is expected to become fully operational in 2017.
