Yurii Milner invested in educational service Coursera

Yurii Milner invested funds in educational online platform Coursera. Also, this service invested International Finance Corporation (subdivision of Global Bank), educational companies Laureate Education and Learn Capital, Fund GSV Capital. Within the limits of the second round of funding Coursera attracted $43M.

Educational site plans to spend attracted funds on involvement of new experts. At the moment company`s staff is about 50 people; quantity of workers is planned to be doubled. Coursera will also develop mobile applications, evolve service on other languages and improve paid program Signature Track, with the assistance of which it is possible to receive a certificate of completion.

The first round of funding Coursera organized itself in summer 2012. At that moment the company, existing only a couple of months, attracted from investors $22M.

Coursera – one of the leading providers of educational content. Nowadays there are 83 educational institutions, being the partners of this resource. Coursera offers about 400 courses, and site`s users amount exceeds one million students.
