Russian Innovation Week creates a platform for entrepreneurs’ cooperation

In September, 17-20 2013 in USA will be conducted annual conference Russian Innovation Week (RIW 2013). Government authorities’ representatives from Russia and USA, leaders of large businesses, venture investors and entrepreneurs in the sphere of technologies will take part in it. The conference organizers are Russian Institutions of development: RVC, ROSNANO, and the Skolkovo Fund. The event is conducted under the aegis of a working team on innovations of Russian-American two-sided presidential commission.

The main aim of the event is to demonstrate a potential of Russian innovation industry, help Russian investors and venture funds in making contacts with American partners, and get access to capital resources and international sales channels to Russian technological companies.

RIW 2013 will be held in Boston (in September, 17) and in Silicon Valley (in September, 19-20).

In the program of Russian Innovation Week are the topical for Russia questions on innovation technology business and venture investments – legal support of intellectual property, problems of creating the innovation infrastructure, perspectives on cooperation in such spheres as energy, biotechnologies, IT, robotics technology, telecommunications, and many others.

“Modern economy in hi0tech sectors is, first of all, existence on international markets. And any Startup in its development should establish themselves very ambitious goals on entering these markets – believes director general of RVC Igor Agamirzyan. – Unicity of the RIW is in its great practice value for Russian Startups, both in relation of foreign partners and investors attraction, and getting access to international sales channels”.

In plenary meetings and other events within the limits os Russian Innovation Week will take part Anatoly Chubais, the chairman of the board of directors of ROSNANO, Igor Agamirzyan, director general to RVC, Viktor Vekselberg, the president of the Fund Skolkovo, Russian and American experts, investors and entrepreneurs.

“Today everybody realize that international cooperation in the sphere of innovations is one pf the key factors of global economy growth. Practice showed that our international partners need Russia innovation technologies. For our part, Russia vital needs close cooperation with international innovation society – both in terms of getting experience of development and commercialization of technologies, and for creation of a bridge between Russian products and global markets, - said the president of the Fund Skolkovo Viktor Vekselberg. – This is the main reason why we highly appreciate cooperation with such American corporations as Cisco, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Boeing and others, and also Universities, first of all MIT, in cooperation with whom is created Skolkovo Institute of science and technologies. Due to this reason we with great pleasure take part in the conference RIW, for we could demonstrate the Silicon Valley inhabitants those opportunities, which offers Skolkovo.

Besides the main conference-program within the limits of Russian Innovation Week, there wiil also be held other events for business angels, investors and representatives of Russian corporations, devoted to America partners` experience in the sphere of preparation and execution of agreement, implementation and commercialization of innovation technologies, co-investment in technologies.
