Igor Karav became Director of Cluster of nuclear energy technologies Skolkovo

Before joining Skolkovo, Igor Karavaev worked as strategy and investments director at a state-own corporation on nuclear energy ROSATOM. Assuming an appointment, he announced that it will be a pleasure for him to work in “a team of like-minded persons”, in which the best experts and managers are gathered”.
Igor Karavaev was born in 1977 in Saransk. In 1999 he graduated the Mordovian State University with a specialization in Finance and credit. In 2007-2012 visited various management courses in a range of leading global business schools - Harvard, Stanford, London Business School, INSEAD and others.

Till 2001 he worked at education department of the Group “Siberian Aluminum”, where, according to him, he acquired valuable experience, which he increased being a vice-president on development in the department of corporate finances at investment group Aton (2001-2003).

In 2003-2006 he worked as director on strategic development and marketing at TransMashHolding. During these years the company managed to significantly widen its business and become one of the largest companies in this sphere.

In 2006-2001 Igor Karavaev filled a position of a deputy director general on strategic development at SIBUR-Russian Tyres from tyres business. There have been restructured active assets. Realized a range of merger and acquisition projects – as a result there have been attracted investors at all enterprisers, and majority of business has been acquired by Italian concern Pirelli.

In 2011-2013 Igor Karavaev worked as director on strategy and investments at state corporation ROSATOM, where he successfully elaborated and actualized strategic plans of development, worked at investments expertise and various projects on active assets restructure.
