Irkutsk?s multiple-access centers step up RandD and make moneyThe multiple-access centers of Irkutsk State Technical University in Siberia completed and offered more than $6m worth of RandD and consulting services last year.

The multiple-access centers of Irkutsk State Technical University (ISTU) in Siberia completed and offered more than $6m worth of R&D and consulting services last year, the university announced last week. According to Ivan Sysoyev, the deputy head of ISTU?s scientific activity department, ISTU now runs two multiple-access centers that focus on eco-friendly natural resources development, nanosystems, energy efficiency and energy saving, nuclear energy, and information and telecommunications systems. For example, the East-Siberian center, also known as ?Technosphere Safety,? offers hydrosphere monitoring and forecasting services and helps do engineering work for the drilling of exploratory and monitoring wells.
