MTS, a leading Russian mobile operator, is stepping up video surveillance to prevent forest fires in Komi, in Northwest Russia, using its mobile infrastructure and technology from Nizhny Novgorod?s Forest Patrol.
MTS, a leading Russian mobile operator, is stepping up video surveillance to prevent forest fires in the Republic of Komi, in Northwest Russia, using its mobile infrastructure and the Forest Patrol technology developed by RMS, an innovation company from Nizhny Novgorod in the mid-Volga area. The word came earlier this week from the Skolkovo Foundation (RMS is a resident of the Skolkovo innovation hub under construction outside Moscow). Mounted on MTS? base telecom towers, video cameras are reported to enable watchers to visually scan a vast forest territory at an up to 30km distance in sunny weather conditions, support remote control of the alarm system, and automatically alert to a smoke area by sending a signal...
