Russian scientists specializing in agriculture are setting off for search of all-inclusive measures to fight the deadly African swine fever virus.
Russian scientists specializing in agriculture are setting off for search of all-inclusive measures to fight the deadly African swine fever virus (ASFV), Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported last week. The Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (RAAS) has reportedly assigned the task to its All-Russian Research Institute of Veterinary Virology and Microbiology. In addition, in partnership with another RAAS branch, the All-Russian Research Institute of Veterinary Sanitary Science, Hygiene and Ecology, by 2016 the researchers are expected to develop a sophisticated drug for use as spray disinfectant on areas of ASFV outbreaks and neighboring territories that might be subjected to the disease. Another task will include the development of technology for treating transportation vehicles using new ASFV disinfectants...
