The Apple filed an application for registration of a trade mark “Startup”

The Company Apple has filed an application for registration of a trade mark “Startup” in Australia, which will cover retail-services, computer hardware and its operation, educational services, and also software, says the resource TMWatch.

The application has been filed in August, 27 on behalf of the head office of Apple in California and a legal Company`s representative office in Sidney. It is stated there that Apple wants to formalise the word “Startup”.

It is not specified why Apple need it. However, according to Digit.ru, Apple is actively enough purchases technological startups – initially in this month it acquired cartographic service Embark and video-service Matcha.tv.

If Australian management on trade marks` registration will execute the application, then Apple will formalise the name “Startup” for four groups of services and facilities. The first one is a retail of computers, software, accessorize, mobile telephones; the second is download, support and repair of computers and other electronic devices. The Company claims this trade mark also for educational services – seminars and conferences on computes and mobile technologies, and also for design and development of electronics and software.

It is necessary to note that in 2011 Apple has already tried to register analogues trade mark in USA and Australia, and also claimed the trade mark “Apple”.
