Roman Abramovich will start making investments in Startups

Founders of the Exchange Sape.ru have launched the investment structure, which includes venture Fund ImpulseVC, accelerator and incubator. Among the current owners of the Sape.ru is Roman Abramovich. Founders of the Exchange recently have invested in Startups, but then investments have been aimed on synergy of the Sape.ru itself.

According to explains of one of the Sape.ru founders Grigory Firsov, this Fund with amount of $65M is calculated 5 years. Establishment of the Impulse Fund is the attempt to mae public the experience of the Sape.ru and its partners. The Fund will invest in most directions in the segment of Internet – new media, technologies, entertainment.

The Fund Impulse will offer not only financing, but also conduct acceleration program for Startups, education: on the whole 50 companies per year will count upon the Fund’s support: projects will get $25-100K for 7-15% of its shares. The best projects from accelerator will enter the next stage – incubator, which will be able to offer them seed financing – more than $500K for 25-30% of the company.

The Sape.ru was founded in 2007 and earns on sales and purchase of references. In 2008 the control interest of the Sape.ru has purchased the Fund by Yury Milner DST, in 2010 its share has been transferred to Mail.ru Group. According to “Spark-Interfax” in 2012, Mail.ru Group owned 26.5% of the “Sape”, LLC. Mail.ru Group has already sold block of stocks, and now 100% of the Sape.ru possesses to “Endwinteck Limited”.
