The first stage of Innopolis, the innovation satellite city just outside Kazan in the mid-Volga area, will be commissioned by the end of 2015, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported, citing a statement by Roman Shaikhutdinov, the vice premier of the Republic of Tatarstan. The first stage includes a number of buildings with a total area of 300,000 square meters to accommodate the main techno-park, a university, social infrastructure, and residential areas for 5,000 people.
