RVC and Turku Science Park became partners

On October 31, 2013 Russian Venture Capital (RVC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Science Park Turku city (TScP).

The signed agreement is aimed at the development of the Russian innovation ecosystem, including, first of all, support for high-tech entrepreneurship and projects in the field of bio - and information-communication technologies.

TScP is one of the leading European scientific parks, whose aim is introduction of advanced knowledge and development of the competitiveness of enterprises and the creation of new companies in the field of bio - and information-communication technologies. TScP is the strategic partner of several international universities and enterprises in innovative venture capital sphere, granting them access to the global expertise for the implementation of joint projects. In addition, pursued by the TScP conference «Bio Turku» is one of the leading events in the field of biotechnology in the region.

RVC and Biofund RVC already have experience of successful cooperation with TScP in the organization of events aimed at promoting the commercialization of biotech projects. In particular, on behalf of the Ministry of economic development of Russia in collaboration with the Trade Representative of Russia in Finland were planned several business missions of biotech companies. Nearest business mission will be held on 11-14 November of the current year. Finland visited by the representatives of small and medium enterprises from Russian regions operating in the field of biotechnology.


Turku Science Park
Turku Science Park Ltd is a national Technopark of Finland. TSP promotes the utilisation of university-based expertise and competitiveness of enterprises as well as generating new business in the fields of biotechnology (BioTurku®) and information and communication technology (ICT Turku). We also act as the co-ordinator of the national Centre of Expertise programme (OSKE) in Southwest Finland and manage the national HealthBIO cluster which is part of the programme.
Turku Science Park Ltd acts as a strategic partner of universities and enterprises, both start-ups and operational, growth-seeking ones.

About the RVC
RVC was established by the Russian government in 2006 to encourage the country’s venture capital industry and boost venture capital funds. Its roles are that of a government fund of venture capital, channeling public incentives to venture capital and financial support to the high-technology sector; and as a Russian venture capital industry development institution.

About forum «Open Innovations»
Global discussion platform – Forum «Open innovation» - is devoted to the latest technologies and prospects for international cooperation in the field of innovation.
