A new high tech production line is being set up in Mordovia?s city of Saransk, in the mid-Volga area, to manufacture polycrystalline silicon, silicon wafers, photocells and solar modules for solar energy projects, the official website of the Mordovia government announced. The new line will be launched on the premises of Electrovypryamitel, a local factory in Saransk. According to the regional government, the project ?still has no analogs in Russia.? The first stage, producing components for solar power stations, is slated for launch early next year, followed by two more to be completed by the end of 2015. The effort is expected to create up to a thousand new local jobs...
