Microsoft Future Weekend has gathered the Kazan programmers at the hackathonThe regular hackathon in the Kazan IT-park has been held under the aegis of Microsoft. Officially the event has been named “Microsoft Future Weekend in Kazan” and offered programmers to try themselves in developing applications in C#. This time traditional for the Kazan IT-park format of hackathons has been changed a bit, and if earlier participants have been offered to write a code during weekends, then now “Microsoft Future Weekend” started in Friday evening.

Before the event starting in the business-incubator of the Kazan IT-part has been held the open meeting with Dmitry Soshnikov. Dmitry has been the technical evangelist and coordinator of Microsoft Russia academician programs, and during the whole hackathon he helped participants with advices, and suggested in solving the problems.

The “Microsoft Future Weekend” has been started in Friday, in 7 pm, and amount of participants was incredible. In Friday evening in the Kazan IT-park has gathered more than hundred programmers, who wished to establish their own project and become closer to participation in the “Microsoft Imagine Cup”. However, by Saturday morning in the conference-hall of the Kazan IT-park the strongest participants survived. Severe hackathon’s marathon, which supposed continuous work under the application both day and night, more than half of participants could not withstand. Nevertheless the rest programmers continued working under their projects. Applications, which have been developed in the course of the hackathon, could become the basis for the project-participant of the “Microsoft Imagine Cup” and participants themselves could get valuable experience in developing a real prototype of the product in shortest period of time. All participants received a great opportunity – during one day learn how to develop mobile application for Windows Phone/Windows 8, create its first application and distribute in the Windows store.

According the results of the hackathon, guys have presented their projects and results of their all-day work.

This time jury has selected several winners – the first place has been taken by three participants:
• Saveboll – game for the platform Windows, the core of which is in managing balls, collecting points and challenging difficulties;
• Goldsleep – application for young parents, which analyses noise level, and, in case a child has woken up and started to cry, it automatically switches lullaby song;
• Find a star – game for memory development. In the chaotic mode on the screen stars start moving and after its disappear it is necessary to show it on the screen.
