In MGIMO have been distinguished the best business-incubators and StartupsIn November 8-19, 2013 within the International Entrepreneurial Week in MGIMO has been held the Third Russian-American Forum on business-incubation. Organizers of the event are MGIMO, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Innovation and Business-incubation Development Fund.

In the solemn part of the Forum with the grateful speech have spoken the MGIMO rector A.Torkunov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA, USA) Karl Lapan, and deputy counselor for economic affairs of the USA Embassy in Russia R.Neff.

The main accent this year has been made on building the innovation ecosystem of the Government, within the limits of which can be achieved the maximum effect from activity of business-incubators and technoparks. Herewith the event has been divided by two parts: the first day was wholly devoted to the most actual global trends in the sphere of business-incubation, while within the second day participants could get acquainted with experience of the most successful foreign and Russian business-incubators, and also estimate perspectives of business-incubation development perspectives in Russia in the near years.

In the first day of the Forum traditionally has been held the ceremony of laureates awarding with the National Award in the sphere of business-incubation and innovation entrepreneurship “Young Lions-2013”. This year owners of the prestige award became the following:
• The best classical business-incubator – Business-incubator of Togliatti;
• The best students’ business-incubator – Interuniversity students business-incubator “Druzhba”, Tomsk;
• The best manager of the classical business-incubator – Aleksander Krasnoslabodtsev, Barnaul;
• The best manager of the students’ business-incubator – Mikhail Khomich, business-incubator of the MSU, Moscow;
• The best IT-project – “Microspace”, business-incubator of the “STROGINO” Technopark, Moscow;
• The best technological project – the company “Geizer”, Business-incubator “Impulse”, Zarechny.

The special nomination of this year “Baby Lion” has been awarded out of competition to the Children business-incubator “Bink” of the Center for technical creativity “Novation”. Ivanovo. Peculiarity of the business-incubator ‘Bink” consists of the fact that it mainly is focused on helping scholars of senior classes in realization of their business-projects, which makes it inconvenient for participating in any other nomination.

As the prize the winners received an opportunity of free participation in the conference NBIA in May, 2014, the right for free education on International certification trainings of MGIMO-NBIA and participation in the program “Softlanding” jointly with Innovation Center of the North-East Indiana, All winners have been awarded by a certificate of the winners and firm statue of the Innovation and Business-incubation Development Fund.

The Forum received numerous positive opinions from the side of participants, who noted not only interesting content, but also a high level of organization, an also wide lightening in mass media.

Strategic partners of the Forum became the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA, USA) – the leading International Association of business-incubators, which includes more than 2000 members from 80 countries all over the world, and Innovation Center of the Northern-East Indiana (NIIC, USA) – one of the leading global technoparks, which works with projects from USA and other countries.
