In November, 2013 the Fund “Skolkovo” and German company “LIMO Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH”, which was founded by native of Russia headed with Vitaly Lissotschenko, have executed an agreement on R&D center establishment in the Innovation Center of Skolkovo.
Investing annually more than 10% of the amount in researches and developments, and having more than 300 acting patents, the company LIMO – leader of the high-tech market of refractive microoptics – took decision on opening of a new R&D subdivision in Russia on the territory of Skolkovo.
According to Vitaly Lissotschenko, a founder, participant and manager of the LIMO Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH, the expected volume of investments in the Center should comprise more than 100M RUB , and amount of workers should exceed 50 highly qualified scientists-investigators and engineers. Among the subjects of the Center are production technologies of microoptic elements and systems, semiconducting (diode) laser emitters, application of lasers and laser systems for materials processing, surface alloying and also lighting systems.
“LIMO is a very important partner of nuclear technologies Cluster and one of the most authoritative players in its market segment, - noted executive director of the Cluster Igor Karavaev, - Cooperation with such companies as LIMO should lead to appearance on the Skolkovo territory of the center of competence in the sphere of laser technologies”.
“It is notable that LIMO was founded by native of Russia, and entering the Skolkovo is trends proof for scientists coming back in Russia, but in new capacities”.
Igor has also noted that LIMO is the first International specialized company in the sphere of laser technologies, which places stake on Russian engineers and investigators, and plans with its active attractiveness to open in Russia its own scientific-research activity.
