Rusalox, a Rusnano portfolio company, has launched Russian-based production of new boards for electronic devices that require extensive heat removal, the official Rusnano website announced. Semiconductor device makers, especially LED manufacturers, typically face a major problem of rapid and efficient heat removal. One of the solutions here is using a method that enables selective step-by-step oxidation of aluminum during board production. At the heart of the new Rusalox project is the patented ALOX aluminum oxidation technology developed by Israel?s Micro Components Ltd. (MCL). The approach is said to be able to double both the service life of LED-based lamps, and their efficiency. Substrates based on this technology contain conducting layers of aluminum and/or copper and a dielectric nanoporous material. The new production line is expected to operate at a capacity of 35,000 square decimeters of products a month...
