The Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN), in the mid-Volga area, has agreed to collaborate in science and technology with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the University of California, announced the press service of this largest university in the Nizhny Novgorod region. An MOU was signed on January 13-14 during a high-profile UNN visit to LLNL. The Nizhny Novgorod delegation also included representatives of the local Institute of Applied Physics (IAP). UNN and its partners from IAP aimed to look into possible mechanisms of collaboration in scientific research and, specifically, in the development of high power short-pulse lasers. Other objectives encompassed exchange of experience in training a young cadre of professors and engineers.
