During a workshop held in the WetLab format, a new platform for refractive surgery was presented. The platform consists of Femto Visum, a femtosecond laser system enabling almost noninvasive surgeries without damaging the external layers of the eye?s cornea, and Microscan Visum, an excimer laser system used in vision correction. To achieve the therapeutic goal, both systems are to be used. At the beginning, using the femtosecond laser helps create what?s called a valve, which is the cornea?s upper layer about 100 micrometers thick, which is then elevated and the excimer laser is used to correct a patient?s vision...
