MISiS, one of Moscow?s leading technology universities, has launched its Center for Materials? Thermal Chemistry, a facility which its management claims is ?unique in the country and in the world.? According to Center director Alexandra Khwan, PhD, quoted by the MISiS press service, the new Center is expected to enable researchers to step up the development of new materials at least by 30-40%. The Center?s advanced computer modeling capabilities will be able to rapidly identify and scrap poor compounds and help scientists focus on potentially breakthrough substances only, the MISiS management said.
