Low-cost material for dental implantation developed in Siberia

Scientists at the Krasnoyarsk Medical Center for Diabetes and the Scientific Dentistry Center in Krasnoyarsk, in Siberia, have developed a brand new material for dental implantation, which is believed to save customers 50-75% of costs compared to the international competition, Nanonewsnet.ru reports. They emphasize that prior to the 1990s, insular diabetes was an absolute contra-indication to dental implantation. The researchers have provided evidence that with new materials diabetes patients can receive dentistry services like that. To make the new dental prostheses and implant materials, an innovation super-elastic titanium nickelide alloy has been developed. According to Mikhail Zvigintsev, one of the project drivers and the deputy director of the Scientific Dentistry Center, the new material is ceramics containing feldspar, a mineral that is only found in Russia in two areas?outside Krasnoyarsk and in Karelia (Northwest Russia)...
